Welcome to the Doctor’s Mess!
The mess offers a safe, comfortable space to relax on shift. It is located on the 2nd floor of the hospital above the main hospital Restaurant.
All resident doctors have access to the mess and the facilities.
There is a kitchen located along the corridor from the mess where you can heat up food in the microwaves and wash any dishes.
Facilities include:
- TV
- Computer with access to clinical systems
- Couches
- Coffee Machine, Fridge and Kettle
- Computer Games
There is no charge for use of the Mess. In the past we have tried to run a subscription for the mess through a bank account but this has proved impossible to manage with annual staff changeover and difficulty changing names on bank accounts.
Specific pay day events can be organised if the Mess Committee are keen to do so, but resident doctors need to contribute to funding at the time of taking part, as unfortunately there is no capacity to facilitate this through the Medical Education Department.
