Forth Valley is delighted to offer a clinical development fellow programme in the below specialties:
- General Medicine
- Acute Internal Medicine
- Ageing & Health
- Paediatrics
- Emergency Medicine
- General Surgery
- Orthopaedics
- Obs & Gynae
The clinical fellow programme is designed to provide junior doctors with the opportunity to gain experience of a specialty of their choosing, whilst also bolstering the cadre of doctors in training. Over recent years our CDFs have undertaken a range of non-clinical activities including undergraduate teaching, simulation training, medical leadership, quality improvement and service improvement.
Each CDF post is structured in a fashion which suits the needs of both the department and the clinical fellow, allowing for on-call commitments. Most programmes offer a session or two per week (or equivalent) of non-clinical time to facilitate projects; often there is an associated study budget.
Posts are generally advertised in February/March for commencement in August.
Enquires or questions should be directed to:
- General Medicine – Dr S Salunke
- Surgery – Mr J Crozier
- Emergency Medicine – Dr S Feltbower
Alternatively advice can be sought from the FVRH Human Resources team.
Clinical Development Fellows are an important part of the undergraduate and post-graduate teaching team at FVRH. In recognition of this, please feel free to fill in an application for Honorary Clinical Teacher status with Glasgow University. This allows you access to CPD resources and a university email with Eduroam access.
Follow the above link to complete application. When asked for name of local contact you should indicate Dr Chris Kelly (Undergraduate teaching lead for Glasgow students at FVRH).
