Study leave entitlement is different for trainees of all grades – see specific information in each of the tabs for FY and specialty trainees.
On the whole the below principles apply:
- FY2 doctors are entitled to 1 taste week per year
- Study leave applications should be submitted to dept/rota leads as early as possible, ideally with >6 weeks notice
- Study leave can only be granted if clinical areas can be safely supported in your absence
- Deanery training days are included within your study leave entitlement
Some grades will be allocated a study budget; often this is part of your job agreement such as with clinical development fellows. Please discuss use of this budget with your educational supervisor in the first instance.
Expenses claims should be submitted to the corporate office prior to the event taking place and should be counter signed by your education supervisor. Rota coordinators and the post-graduate office will be able to provide appropriate paperwork if requested.
